Ingredients
  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese (cut into thick sticks)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil (for frying)
    • For the Wet Batter
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Water (as needed)

    Cut the mozzarella cheese into thick rectangular sticks. Pat them dry if needed to help the coating stick better.

    In a bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Gradually add water until a smooth, thick batter forms that can coat the cheese evenly without running off.

    Place breadcrumbs in a separate shallow bowl.

    Dip each mozzarella stick into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Then roll it in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently so the coating sticks well. For an extra crispy layer, repeat the batter and breadcrumb coating once more.

    Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This step is essential to prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during frying.
