Instructions

  1. Use paper towels to thoroughly pat the pickle chips dry. Removing excess moisture helps the batter stick properly and ensures a crispier coating.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually add water, whisking continuously until a thick but pourable batter forms. The batter should coat the back of a spoon without being overly runny.
  3. Place the crushed crispy chips or breadcrumbs into a separate shallow bowl.
  4. Dip each pickle chip into the batter, ensuring it is completely coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off before pressing the pickle into the crushed coating. Coat all sides thoroughly for maximum crunch.
  5. Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each pickle to allow proper air circulation.
  6. Air fry at 390°F for 7–8 minutes, or until the coating is golden brown and crispy. Depending on your air fryer, you may need to cook in batches.
  7. Carefully remove the pickles from the basket and let them cool for 1–2 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy.

Note

• Pat the pickles completely dry before coating to help the batter adhere properly.
• If the batter becomes too thick, add a splash of water until it reaches a pourable consistency.
• Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even browning and crispiness.
• For extra crunch, lightly spray the coated pickles with oil before air frying.
• Serve immediately after cooking for the best texture.
