Ingredients

For Shrimp

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Pat dry the shrimp and season with paprika, black pepper, and salt. Let it marinate for at 5-10 minutes for better flavor.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add another 1 tbsp oil to deglaze the pan. Add the garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until translucent.
  5. Stir in the chili flakes and tomato paste, cooking until fragrant. Add the reserved pasta water and paprika, stirring to combine. Pour in the heavy cream or coconut milk and cook until the sauce is smooth and begins to bubble.
  6. Toss in the cooked spaghetti and shrimp, stirring to coat everything evenly. Taste and adjust salt if necessary. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!

Note

• Don’t overcook shrimp: Cook just until pink and opaque to keep them juicy and tender.
• Save pasta water: Use it to loosen and emulsify the sauce if it becomes too thick.
• Control heat: Keep it medium to prevent the cream sauce from splitting.
