Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the farmer cheese or cream cheese, crab meat, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, chopped scallions, and minced garlic. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated and creamy.
- Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1½ tablespoons of the filling into the center and spread it slightly, leaving a small border around the edges. Lightly brush the edges with water, place another wonton wrapper on top, and firmly press around the edges to seal completely. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry the rangoons in batches for 2–3 minutes, flipping halfway through, until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer the fried rangoons to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
For the creamy drizzle, mix 1 part gochujang sauce with 3–4 parts farmer cheese or mayo until smooth and creamy. Adjust the ratio to your preferred spice level.
- Arrange the crispy crab rangoons on a large serving platter, slightly overlapping them like nachos.
- Drizzle generously with the creamy gochujang sauce and sweet chili sauce. Finish with sesame seeds, sliced scallions, and thinly sliced serrano peppers.
- Serve immediately while the rangoons are hot and crispy.
Note
• Seal the wonton edges well to prevent the filling from leaking during frying.
• Avoid overfilling the wrappers, which can make sealing difficult.
• Fry in small batches to maintain the oil temperature.
• Adjust the amount of serrano peppers and gochujang sauce depending on your preferred spice level.
• These are best served immediately while the wontons are at their crispiest.
• Pair with extra sweet chili sauce for dipping.
