Description

Golden, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these Crispy Potato Hearts are a fun and delicious snack made with simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for parties, appetizers, or a tasty side dish, they're easy to make and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes. Boil them in salted water for 10-12 minutes, or until fork-tender.

  2. Drain the potatoes thoroughly and mash until smooth (no lumps!). Add cornstarch, spices and finely chopped parsley. Mix until well combined and a smooth dough forms.

  3. Roll out the dough to about 1.5-2 cm thickness. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the shapes.

  4. Heat oil over medium heat. Fry the potato hearts in batches, flipping occasionally, until golden and crispy on all sides. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. Serve with dipping sauce and enjoy!

Note

• Dry potatoes well: After boiling, make sure to drain and steam-dry the potatoes properly. Excess moisture makes the dough sticky and less crispy.
• No lumps: Mash until completely smooth for the best texture and even frying.
• Adjust cornstarch if needed: Add a little more if the dough feels too soft or sticky.
• Don’t overcrowd the pan: Fry in small batches so they cook evenly and stay crispy.
• Oil temperature matters: Medium heat is key—too hot will burn outside, too low will make them soggy.
• Shape thickness: Keep them around 1.5–2 cm so they stay fluffy inside and crisp outside.
• Serve immediately: They are crispiest right after frying.
